NDYLIGHT Design Director Steve Brown, is one of the select few lighting designers in the world to earn the qualification of Certified Lighting Designer (CLD).
This qualification is the first international, evidence-based certification in architectural lighting design. The certification process, governed by the Certified Lighting Design Commission, is designed to assess ability to operate as a lead architectural lighting designer in a professional and proficient manner by considering a person’s imaginative, technical, and professional responsibility skills.
To achieve this qualification, Steve had to demonstrate a proven track record of excellence in lighting projects, as well as complete a rigorous assessment process. The assessment considered the suitability, ingenuity and technical aptitude Steve displayed in his projects, along with environmental impact, achievement of project goals, the synthesis of technical and aesthetic elements, and the contribution of the lighting design to a positive and supportive occupant experience.
“We congratulate Steve on earning the CLD. This global benchmark of performance demonstrates his proficiency in developing, guiding, and completing lighting design projects,” said David Becker, Chair of the Certified Lighting Design Commission.
This qualification is further recognition of Steve’s talent and capability to offer architectural lighting designs that enhance the capability of the built environment, as well as create a positive experience for occupants.
